Jennifer Kovalcik is a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology Service Group in the firm's Nashville office. Her practice concentrates on designing and implementing intellectual property protection plans, enforcing intellectual property assets and software licensing. Jennifer is involved in a variety of litigation in both federal and state courts.
Jennifer also prosecutes trademark and copyright registration applications, litigates trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, handles domain name and internet content disputes, as well as negotiates and drafts licenses and other contracts that implicate intellectual property or technology rights. She also interacts with U.S. Customs & Border Protection to enforce trademarks through seizure orders.

- Obtained the transfer of domain names from cyber squatters
- Assisted with the implementation and enforcement of national trademark licensing programs

Before Stites & Harbison
Prior to law school, Jennifer studied vocal performance under the direction of Edith Davis Tidwell at the University of Louisville, where she was a frequent soloist. The creativity of the faculty and students inspired Jennifer to champion intellectual property rights. Jennifer also studied and taught karate for which she earned a second degree black belt.
More than Stites & Harbison
Jennifer is an avid supporter of the arts. She is a member of the Concert Chorale of Nashville and is a current member of the Board of Directors for St. Mary Villa Child Development Center and a member of the Nashville Kappa Delta Sorority Alumnae Association. She currently serves as Chair of the AIPLA Trademark Litigation Committee and is Vice Chair of the Nashville Bar Association's Intellectual Property Committee. Jennifer recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee. During her time in Louisville, Kentucky, Jennifer served as an adjunct professor at the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law where she has taught Entertainment, Media & the Law, served on the Trio Board for the Public Radio Partnership as secretary and a member emeritus and served as a board member and singer for the Voces Novae Choral Ensemble. She was a former chair of the Kappa Delta Sorority Alumnae Advisory Board for the University of Louisville Alpha Xi Chapter and also served as an alumnae advisor to the Indiana Chapter.
Besides Stites & Harbison
Jennifer is the mother of twins and continues to use her vocal degree as a National Anthem vocalist at U of L basketball games conducted at KFC Yum Center. She also enjoys running and is working on her second half-marathon.
